Who doesn’t, right? Certainly no red-blooded boy that watched The Wizard! I know some fans were divided over Rilo Kiley’s last effort, Under The Blacklight. In retrospect, I’m still not totally sure how I feel about it. There are tracks I like, and tracks I just find okay. Notably, the first RK album to produce that sort of divided reaction in me.
Ahh, but my love for JL has never waivered! Rabbit Fur Coat was one of the best albums of ‘06, and while these recently announced tourdates skip Arizona, maybe she’ll end up making it up to me next year. I’m sure her new record won’t disappoint, at any rate. She’s basically collaborated with…well, everyone to make it. Making appearances are Johnathan Rice, Farmer Dave Scher, Jason Boesel, Jason Lader, M Ward, Elvis Costello, Chris Robinson, Benji Hughes, and a pairing that must be every indie-lovin’ boy’s wet dream, Zooey Deschanel.
The record is called Acid Tongue, and will be released on Warner September 23rd.
