Every once in a while, you get turned onto something that really makes you sit up and listen. For me, the whole point of contributing to this site is to try to share the best of the thousands of smaller bands out there. So, stand by kids both sides of the Atlantic Ocean because this gem of a band from London is going to cause more than a few ripples,in the musical ocean!Remember this name, White Lies, because if their debut single is anything to go by, they are going places. Recently signed to Fiction Records, they are currently recording the debut album. You will be able to catch them at several festivals throughout the summer. To me, they sound as though the big stage will suit them fine.They also have some Stateside dates coming up, before embarking on a UK tour in the Autumn (check the bands myspace for details). Snap up your tickets fast, I predict once the festival season is over they will go fast. They remind me at times of both U2 and Echo and the Bunnymen…with a sprinkling of Interpol and The Killers. Anyway, Iv’e waxed lyrical enough…check them out and let me know what you think!
