Paul, I’m loving the sound! It seems like a progression on from The Mondays stuff, but still retains the danceability groove. Where do you draw the inspiration from all these years on?
Music is my first love and it will be my last – music of the future and music of the past! Hee hee – does that make me sound like Alan Partridge? Just music man, I’d be dead without it. It’s the language of the world.
What’s planned for the future? Obviously the album is out soon whens the release date?
Album is out now and we start a small UK tour this Saturday (17th nov) in Blackburn and will be supporting Ian Brown on a few of his upcoming tour dates. Here’s the full list:

We are planning a bigger tour for next year as well as the second album but we may release a third single before that.
Will there be a nationwide tour with it?
Yes we hope so!
The Manchester scene seems to be on the up at the moment with the emergence of Cherry Ghost and Bigfinn, who I particuarly like, is there anyone you can tell us we should be looking out for?
It’s great as there are tons of bands coming out of Manchester again at the moment – I like the Ting Tings, The English Channel is brilliant, Suzuki Method and The Drainpipes and The Whip are all worth checking out.

My favourite track changes on a weekly basis at the moment! Today it’s “Flexin”!
What was John Pennington like to work with? Did you get plenty of artistic freedom?
John’s fantastic to work with. I’ve never sung before and he spent a lot of time on the vocals with me. He’s a Martin Hannett protégé so I’ve got great respect for him.
